Michael is a Tauranga based lawyer with an extensive corporate and commercial
legal background. He is an experienced company director having served on
public company boards in New Zealand and Australia and is currently Chairman
of Pathlab, Craigs Investment Partners Superannuation Management limited
and is a Director of Craigs Custodial Services. He also sits on the NZ
Community Trust Regional Advisory Committee for the Bay of Plenty.
Michael became hooked on golf after caddying for Ryder Cup player Peter
Oosterhuis at the tender age of 12 and has since had an extensive participation
in the sport as a player at senior inter‐club level and as an administrator.
Phillip commenced his business career in 1983 with roles in commercial
banking with Countrywide Bank in Auckland and investment banking with Hill
Samuel in London. He has degrees in commerce and law from the University
of Auckland.
In 1996, he established CapitalGroup jointly with Greig Allison. CapitalGroup
is one of the leading providers of capital to the property sector in New
Zealand.
He is married to Treacy and has 3 adult children. Phillip is a keen sportsman
with a particular passion for golf and skiing.
Greig graduated from Auckland University in 1986 with an Economics Degree.
Following this he commenced his banking career with NZI Bank and subsequently
worked for HSBC, Countrywide Bank and Bank of Scotland in London.
On returning to New Zealand he formed CapitalGroup with Phillip Bell in
1996. Since that time he has helped develop CapitalGroup to become one
of the leading providers of private capital to the NZ property market.
Greig is married to Deb and has three children. His interests include,
fitness , boating, fishing and reading.
Craig brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, banking, property
finance, and funds management.
Craig has held the roles of Executive General Manager- BNZ Partners, Head
of Property Finance at BNZ, and General Manager Wealth and Insurance at
ASB. He is currently active in delivering large scale residential developments and has been a past owner of a GJ Gardner Construction business.
During his broad career across the NZ and UK markets, Craig has acquired
extensive experience across large business and property portfolios, property development, and residential construction. He
has an expert knowledge in delivering to multiple stakeholders across the
public, private, government, and iwi sectors.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Valuation and Farm Management)
from Massey, and Post Graduate Diploma in Business (Finance). He is
a member of the Institute of Directors, Fellow of FINSIA, and has studied
executive leadership at INSEAD.
Craig is married to Kim, and has 3 teenage children. When not supporting his children’s many interests he spends much of spare time in the Coromandel enjoying watersports.
Shane is a senior partner in the Matamata law firm of Edmonds Marshall. He has practised law since 1983. Shane has a general practice in property with an emphasis on rural conveyancing and subdivisions and has a special interest in trust law and estate planning.
Ian started his career in Banking which included 15 years as Head of ASB Rural Banking Division setting it up from scratch and leading it to become one of the major players in the Market.
Subsequent to this for the past 12 years he has been a full time Director including 10 years as Director of Fonterra and the last 12 years Director of First Mortgage Trust.
Ian also owns large scale interests in Dairy Farming and Beef Farming.
Peter is a lawyer by profession. After practising for several years in Auckland, Peter left New Zealand to work for the international law firm, Linklaters. Peter became a partner of Linklaters specialising in banking and finance and was based in London, Hong Kong and Bangkok for a total of 16 years.
On returning to New Zealand in 2005, Peter became General Counsel and Company Secretary of SKYCITY Entertainment Group and eventually became General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Chief Risk Officer, with responsibility for legal and regulatory affairs, anti-money laundering, risk, government relations, communications and health and safety.
Peter retired from SKYCITY in 2018 to forge a career in corporate governance and consulting. Peter brings extensive banking and finance experience to the board, plus deep knowledge of working in highly regulated businesses, such as First Mortgage Trust.
